BLUESTOCKING BOUTIQUE: THE FIRST LGBTQ FRIENDLY LINGERIE STORE

Jeanna Kadlec came across the idea one afternoon that there are truly no stores that exist that cater directly to the Queer community.
While niche labels that cater to LGBTQ people exist, and queer designers that approach lingerie design with a certain level of "openness" there is not one store that directs straight to the Queer community. Thus the begining of Bluestockings online store. Using the motto "Underthings for Everyone" Jeanna began to source different brands that would be apart of her growing plan of a LGBTQ focused lingerie online boutique.
“Lingerie is actually a surprisingly conservative industry,” Kadlec says. “But there are definitely corners, specifically in the lingerie blogosphere … that really are embracing and are calling for more diversity in the industry—supporting queer owned brands, women of color owned brands, more diversity in advertising, that kind of thing.” (Bluestockings Boutique, Jeanna Kadlec)
Bluestockings' mission is to empower people who have been marginalized by the mainstream lingerie industry and to offer them an experience that reflects their identities, their bodies, and their values. The store has focused on bringing a wider range of sizes, shapes, silhouettes to the queer community.
